Falk Lucas graduated at the University of Applied Science in Hamburg Bergedorf in Medical Engineering and developed a climate chamber for confocal laser scanning microscopy in 2000. He then move to San Diego and became head of engineering at Q3DM, a high speed screening light microscope company. In 2004 he became an engineer at Beiersdorf in the analytical microscopy department developing UV and automatic light microscopes platforms and moved into electron microscopy sample preparation instrument development. His expertise is Cryo-SEM and high pressure freezing and design, construction and testing of cryo-preparation devices for EM and optic design.
