Stephan Handschin graduated at ETH Zürich in Natural Science (now D-Biol) and took a post graduate course in human nutrition. He worked several years in the Institute of Food Science and Nutrition at the ETH. He joined EMEZ in 2008 with a part time position. His expertise lies in the field of imaging food and biological structures with light and electron microscopy. Specialities are dynamic investigations with a heating stage on a light microscope, confocal laser scanning microscopy and conventional as well as cryo-preparation techniques for biological samples.
