Elisabeth Müller studied physics at ETH Zürich. During her PhD at the Solid State Physics Laboratory of ETH Zürich she investigated a far-order phenomenon in SiGe multilayer nanostructures with electron microscopic techniques. After a postdoc at ETH Zürich on cobalt and iron silicides she joined the Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology at PSI, where she concentrated on the electron microscopic characterisation of group IV and III-V semiconductor nanostructures. Since 2007 Elisabeth Müller is a staff member at EMEZ. Her expertise regards both, specimen preparation of material science samples as well as the structural (diffraction, high-resolution imaging) and chemical (EELS, EFTEM, EDX) analysis of materials by TEM and STEM.
