Miriam Lucas graduated at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany, in Environmental Engineering (M.Sc.). She received her Ph.D. in 2007 from the University of Hamburg, Germany, Institute of Physical Chemistry, working in close cooperation with the R&D Microscopy Department of Beiersdorf AG, Hamburg, on the description of the pigmentation of human skin by means of correlative light and electron microscopy. Since 2007 Miriam Lucas is implementing correlative microscopy techniques for biological samples at EMEZ. This includes the establishment of preparation protocols suitable for multimodal imaging from CLSM to FIB-SEM and TEM-tomography, as well as image processing for 3D illustration and modeling.
