Eszter Barthazy graduated at the University in Basel in Experimental Physics in 1993. She received her PhD in atmospheric science at the “Laboratorium für Atmosphärenphysik ETH” in the year 1998. During the following years she worked on the microphysics of precipitation, investigating snowflakes with radar and in-situ instruments. From 2005 to 2007 the emphasis of her work was on the properties of soot particles produced with a soot generator. Since 2008 Eszter Barthazy is a staff member at EMEZ. Her expertise regards specimen preparation of material science samples and their characterization with TEM.
